This piece was inspired by a trip I took to Israel mainly focused on riding a camel in the Negev Desert. I choose to draw a camel getting ready to go for a ride in the desert in front of sand dunes. Rather than having there be a sun I choose to add Israel’s national flower using a stylistic approach. Riding a camel is definitely an experience that's hard to forget but it was a memory that makes me happy when looking back. I wanted this piece to remind me of all the fond memories I have from this trip along with how it still makes me feel. The camel is meant to look as if it's about to take someone for a ride, has its saddle on all ready to go. Throughout the camels body I used a variety of shapes and patterns to create contrast between the different areas of hair. For the background of the piece I decided to use spray paint to create the illusion of sand dunes and the texture of sand. By layering the spray paint I was able to add depth and contrast between the space behind the camel.
